In-Depth Framing Guide

What sets my framing apart — and why collectors love it.

Why Presentation Matters as Much as the Artwork

When you collect one of my artworks, I want it to arrive as a complete, resolved piece — not something that still requires decisions, compromises, or additional work.

That’s why every artwork is offered professionally framed, ready to hang and thoughtfully finished.

Rather than treating framing as an afterthought, I consider it an essential part of how the artwork is experienced. The frame should protect the work, support it visually, and feel intentional in your space.

This approach allows the artwork itself to remain the focus — calm, balanced, and fully realised from the moment it’s unwrapped.

This guide explains what goes into that process — from materials and glazing choices to the details that make each framed artwork feel quietly refined.

What Makes This Framing Special

Framed in a London Studio

Every artwork is professionally framed in a London studio, where the artwork, glazing, and frame are carefully assembled and finished to ensure a clean, gallery-ready presentation.

This hands-on finishing process ensures precise alignment, and a level of attention that shows once the artwork is on the wall.

Precision-Crafted Frames from Germany

The wooden frames themselves are crafted in Germany by Nielsen, a renowned European frame producer known for precision engineering and exceptional build quality.

This combination of German craftsmanship and London-based finishing results in a frame that feels deliberate, balanced, and beautifully executed — solid, clean, and dependable.

Real Wood Only — No Imitations

All frames are made from real wood — never MDF, plastic, or imitation materials.

This gives the frame a natural warmth, subtle grain, and a timeless quality that complements fine art photography rather than competing with it.

The wood used is FSC®-certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests that meet strict environmental and social standards.

Glass & Acrylic — Chosen by Size

To ensure both clarity and durability, glazing is selected based on artwork size:

Small and medium sizes are framed behind high-quality glass, offering crisp clarity and a classic finish.

Larger sizes are framed behind premium framing acrylic (3 mm thick) — lighter, safer for substantial works, and ideal for larger formats while maintaining excellent visual clarity.

Each material is chosen to suit the artwork, not the other way around.

Clean, Modern Presentation (No Mount)

All artworks are framed without a mount, creating a clean, contemporary presentation that keeps the focus entirely on the image.

A subtle printed border around the artwork provides visual breathing room and balance, resulting in a look that feels intentional, modern, and quietly confident.

This approach is widely used for contemporary photography in galleries and private collections.

Ready to Hang

Every framed artwork arrives ready to hang, with secure hanging hardware professionally attached to the back of the frame.

No additional preparation needed — simply unpack, hang, and live with the artwork.

A Considered Choice of Frame Finishes

Each finish is selected to work naturally with both the artwork and a wide range of interiors:

  • Black — timeless, elegant, and quietly confident
  • White — clean, modern, and gallery-light
  • Oak — warm, natural, and subtly textured

Every option is designed to support the artwork, not distract from it.

No Mount — The Museum-Standard Look

Framed without a mount — the same approach used by top galleries and museums displaying contemporary fine art photography. Many collectors who once preferred traditional mounts now say they’d never go back.

This Is the Difference

Thoughtful framing isn’t about excess. It’s about restraint, balance, and confidence.

A well-framed artwork doesn’t shout.

It settles into a space. It holds presence. It feels right.

That’s the goal here: to support the artwork, respect your space, and make living with fine art feel effortless and enduring.
